a minor point, but the wascals were not one of the earliest groups signed to delicious vinyl – they were actually signed towards the later of end of when the label was still signing acts. tone loc, young mc, and mellow man ace were some of the earliest acts signed to the label.

I remember seeing The Pharcyde, Anotha Level and Souls of Mischeif at the House of Blues around 1995. One of the sickest shows ever, The Wascals (or Buckwheat specifically) even did a few verses at the end… The only time I ever saw Wascals preform, actually.

I have the old Anotha Level cd and all their first singles on wax. I play that ‘What’s that Cha Say’ track quite a bit actually. Everybody should download it!

That Jay Dee remix wasn’t on the O.G. single but I can’t remember exactly (drunk from the cluuuub). Everything good is on the new Jaydelicious compilation, also from Delicious Vinyl.
