Glass Candy – Geto Boys (Demo)

glass candy Glass Candy Geto Boys (Demo)

From no-wave rock beginnings to the italo disco sensation that they are today, Glass Candy never ceased to astonish with every release. I’m convinced that Johnny Jewel, the man behind the Glass Candy sound is a genius and Ida No, the woman behind that dreamy voice is an angel.

The duo has been know to close out their live sets by singing one of their songs on top of the Geto Boys‘ ‘Mind Playing Tricks On Me’ beat. Last month they unveiled a new demo track on their myspace titled ‘Geto Boys’ which is Ida covering Cyndi Lauper’s ‘Iko Iko’ on top of the Geto Boys beat. The two songs go together amazingly well.

hey...crystal migraine is gone :(! can someone help a brotha out with Glass Candy demos/artwork?
  • i first saw glass candy in 2002 in a shack behind a local high school playing for a group of pimple faced teens swooning over ida and her see-thru skirt. G.C. then was in no way like they are now, almost polar opposites infact. very screamy and rocky, but still, i love anything they do.

i rolled down their hills for the first time at their pop montreal 2006 concert and i've had the migraine ever since.
i do however prefer their synthpopiness from that year than the current discosity, though it is still galactically pleasing music.
  • awesome thanks for the link disaster
  • Damn! Second time I've been called out on this post! Earlier someone told me that Geto Boys sampled the Mind Playing Tricks on Me beat, which I knew they had but I didnt know from where. iT's from an Isaac Hayes track. I need to do more homework!
