NYC’s DJ Morsy picked a hilarious name for his latest project which started out as a joke but turned into to something completely fun. This is the second installment in the ‘Emo Thug’ series which is mainstream hip hop lyrics thrown on top of that indie/electro shit we love. It’s been done before, yes, but we love it. I never tire of seeing home dudes in t-skirts doing the “lean back” to some electro shit.
It looks as though the folks over at URB magazine were feeling it too; ‘Emo Thug 2′ got a write up in the last issue.
MP3: Spektrum/Tiefschwarz Vs. Unk - New 2 Step (DJ Morsy Rmx)
This cut is from ‘Emo Thug’ volume one:
MP3: Bonecrusher, Busta Vs. Jockey Slut - Neva Scared to Dance (DJ Morsy Emo-Thug mix)
You can pick up both volumes of Emo Thug from Turntable Lab. Whisper at your boy DJ Morsy on his site, Nanachill.com

Nothing is more fun than bringing everyone to the floor. Shoulder leanin’ Gs and two-stepping white boys together. UNITY!
T-skirts hahah good call.
Niiiice tunes.. peace out :X
nice work!
nice to see that this topic is finally getting some airtime. Keeping hush-hush about it doesn’t make it go away… BTW, here’s some more info about emo for those interested.
