The Teenagers – Starlett Johannson

The Teenagers are back in a major way, with a new video for ‘Starlett Johannson’ featuring the object of adoration herself—Scarlett Johannson (or so the rumor-mill goes). The video coincides with the single release on Merok Records and the announcement of their first US tour (Toronto too!).

Y’all remember them Blamma! Blamma! cats? Remember how they did amazing things to songs from Blood Red Shoes, Headland and Maximo Park (kinda) and it changed our chests irreversibly—forever? Well, now they’ve done an official promo remix for The Teenz! OMG! <333

More! ‘Cuz we never get enough. The tracks that started the Teenagers craze, ‘Homecoming’ (released on Kitsune) and ‘Fuck Nicole’, as remixed by Parisians Gentlemen Drivers, Brooklyn Trouble & Bass‘r Passions, & Parisian Klub des Loosers‘r Detect:

And, to prove The Teenagers can throw down a remix—here’s their take on London’s Simian Mobile Disco, reworked so brilliantly. We posted it before, but, oh so good, it’s a repeater:

We’re Teenz fanboys, as you can tell, so you’ll know we’ll be at as many of these tour dates as possible—including their very first American show in L.A. I’ll be in the front weeping like they’re the freaking Beatles.

The advice I have for you is presale, presale, presale! Check your local box office.

Visit The Teenagers on MySpace. Also, visit their label Merok on MySpace or MerokRecords.com to buy the Starlett Johannson single (Merok Records don’t last!).

Oh, and our Teenz archive runs so deep—dive in. (Deep!)

Deeeeep!

  • @ Derek:

Eh. That happens too often; it's very disappointing. I'll still go check 'em out.

p.s. Love your blog. I read all the time.
  • Seen the Teenagers twice now, and as much as I hate to say it (because I was way psyched for their live show and I love them), they're one of the worst live bands I've ever seen. So sorry.
  • shit. living in vegas, you miss so much shit dammit...

sigh. luckily my friend produces. =( mini party, pocket raves...
  • Starlett's good but Homecoming remains their best track, I'm sure it will deserve a room in a "Top 100 tracks of the 00's"!
