Design by AbsentThe Riot Dolls, fronted by int’l jetsetters DJ Loli and DJ Shoddy are what’s hot in our playlist. They spin that hittin’ house. The Dolls just dropped their inaugural mix collaboration on us and it hasn’t left the Missingtoof playlist for days.
We don’t need to remind you that female DJs crews are in short supply. Aside from the heavy Syrup Girls rotation, our iPods are ruled by DJ XY chromosome. Now, a mix is a mix is a mix, so gender doesn’t really make a lick of difference, but then again, knowing where music came from gives it much more personality. The Riot Dolls personality comes across in the mix loud and clear—with a subversive introduction that sets the pace for the hour long dance riot.

MP3: DJ Loli & DJ Shoddy present: The Riot Dolls Vol. 1 [55:36 | 76.4MB]

The Riot Dolls are more than just pretty faces (although their mugs do fit the profile)—their mix speaks for itself—but we all take press where we can get it, and The Dolls’ DJ Loli has gotten press from Maxim Magazine, L.A. Times & Current.TV (go check out her pod where she’s dubbed a “Current Hottie”). When she’s in L.A. she holds down Spider After Hours at Avalon in Hollywood.

@ Amazone:
Thanks! You’re quick! The streaming link worked but not the download link. Everything’s fixed now! Enjoy.
Thanks to RSS feed and netvibes
I am really curious about this mixtape, the track listing is nice, and the girls are beautiful
thanks for fixing it so quickly !!
Looks like a thoroughly solid mix, with some good break-y tunes in there too. As a side point, I’m pretty sure that Bump Uglies is actually a Bass Kleph tune - Dopamine did the remix. Either way, always good to see some she-js tearing it up
@ Luke:
First, I dig your blog. Have been for a while now.
Second, you’re right. It’s a Bass Kleph tune. I’ll fix it. The playlist might have some kinks. I had to hound ‘em to get a tracklist in the first place and it was a little disheveled.
Cute chicks, whatever.
I’m just stoked they –like Aoki on his recent “for sale” CD — chose to include the MSTRKFT remix of DANCE. We haven’t heard that enough lately.
Same thing with Technologic. Another fresh track that deserves more airplay.
I only wish “Shiny Disco Balls” could have made the list, too.
I Want Your Soul is an Armand Van Helden song, which was remixed by Crookers.
Great mix though.
@ Bokononist:
Good call! We fixed it.
puh, that set really burns me away. i listen to it everyday on the way to university. makes me dance and grin!
topic aside, you guys do an awesome blog. i stumbled upon it 1 week before and i am already addicted!
Song 2-Dusty Kid -The Cat (Crookers Remix)
I love this place!
@ UMHUM:
Snap! You’re right. Thanks.
the last track on this rack (it’s true)is sick as fuck, what a great rolling fat farty bass synth!!
