I didn't get a chance to make it to LA for this one, but I was there for the HARD New Years event.. How were the stages and times mapped out this time, it seems like they like to book a ton of big names but make it difficult to see them all.

@ Pete:

We must go to different clubs. I hear Robin S. almost every time I go out. Early 90s dance music is the new blog, and blog is the new black.

Anybody want some, get some:

shane: The reason why I liked MSTRKRFT's set was because they did switch it up instead of spinning the same tracks other DJs spin. They started with some of the expected track's that they normally spin, but they also threw in some classics such as... gypsy woman by Crystal Waters, show me love by Robyn S, and some old daft punk and Thomas Bangalter tracks.

pete: mixes ARE supposed to be continuous but they are also supposed to contain variety. no one wants to listen to the same thing over and over. the only people that enjoy that shit are ravers who are too geeked out to really care. i have a great deal of respect for mstrkrft (more so as producers) but their performance wasn't as great as i expected and the sound definitely didn't carry on that outdoor stage.

You people suck! MSTRKRFT was dope, and so was NERD. I also enjoyed the Bloody Beetroots, and it did suck that they got cut off, but I think that was mostly due to the down time between Spank Rock and NERD, not MSTRKRFT. Shane you obviously don't know a thing about mixing. Mixes are supposed to be continuous, not chopped up.

mstrkrft sounded like one long obnoxious song that wouldn't end (especially because what little bass they did have didn't carry on the outdoor stage). btw playing bounce twice in a row. was that really necessary? the only standout performance was by bloody beetroots which happened too late and was cut way too short in my opinion. if i would have payed for this i would have been pissed.
