Jeremy is from Sydney. He is 18 years old and loves to DJ. He is not to be confused with the Norwegian indie/folk band of the same name.
Jeremy is without a gimicky namesake, and we find that refreshing (with the aforementioned band, “Jeremy” it is a gimmick because no one in the band has that name).
A good mix is a good mix, no matter what you call yourself—be it what’s on your passport or DJ MegaAwesomeDJ. And Jeremy’s mix sounds good.
Jeremy’s ‘Pipemix’ is thrown down in Ableton Live for extra freshness. The mix has a underlying idea of a musical journey grounded in electro. The ‘Pipemix’ borrows a familiar sample from ‘Super Mario Bros.’—that of Mario descending down the pipe after a completed level. Jeremy “added those as a signifier for when the sound is going to change dramatically, similar to going into a pipe in Mario and coming out in a different world with different music.”
A mix with a theory? This ol’ college boy ain’t mad at it.
More than anything, the tracklist is everything I want to hear right now and nothing that I don’t.

Sooo, there was a little secret Ed Banger party in West Hollywood tonight at the infamous Viper Room, courtesy of Scion and Vice. In addition to Busy P, Kavinsky and SebastiAn, Justice decided to make an unannounced appearance, which is always nice. Thanks to Busy P for flying the boys in between their gig in Japan and their gig in Finland! With so much of the Ed Banger roster in the house they made it a fun rotation—DJing their signature sound with their tried and true CDJ setup.
Our boy C-Town also DJ’d the opening slot—just after conducting interviews with the Ed Banger gang. The transcription of that meeting is sure to show up in his little monthly rag called, Anthem Magazine. Just like his recent cover-story interview with Daft Punk that’s on news stands now in the current issue (with a Daft Punk photography spread shot by Hedi Slimane, which is breathtaking).
This right here is a music blog so let’s have some music! We love Edward Banger. We’re so friendly we call ‘em Ed. You like remixes, let’s do this! Tracks from Revl9n, Klaxons, Justin Timberlake & DJ Hell.
Everyone’s been asking how the Ed Banger party was, but needless to say it was nothing short of outstanding. Words could not even describe the events that took place that night. Our parents have Styx tickets forever framed in their scrapbooks, our generation will have yellowing Justice ticket stubs to show off to our grandchildren.
Here’s a video clip from the night that will live on in infamy. Video by Peter Noble of TheGentleKing.com who is SF’s premier dance party videographer.
The fabulous frenchies played insane re-edits of all the Ed Banger classics & dance faves like Gossip & Green Velvet. Then they dipped in to some old school cuts, such as Rage Against the Machine which had everyone in the crowd chanting ‘This is for the people of the sun’! Then they pulled out all the stops & threw on some old school rave cuts. I was pretty toasty by this time, but I swear they played 1995’s ‘Are Am Eye’ a.k.a. NOOM 13.
Anyone else remember this track?! It was either this or Nuclear Hyde or an Ed Banger re-edit of one of the two?!. If it was in fact this track, The EB’s brought the track in at the break around (4:15)
This shit is mad old so might have to dig in some crates to find it, or find a record collector who has one (like me!). Sometimes copies pop up on ebay. If you have a copy that you want to sell HTFR.COM will buy it off you.
What are you guys doing this weekend? Writing hate mail to your parents? Fulfilling your community service hours? Well, I’m raiding my piggybank and heading out to this:
If any of you guys live in the area & feel like giving a player a ride, I got a dollar on it & I’ll promise not to hit on your little sister.
