A staple of the L.A. club scene, DJ Paparazzi is DJ, producer, arranger and club promoter.

Until yesterday, the last we’ve heard from the man was his ‘Yummy Knockout’ edit of Gwen Stefani’s ‘Yummy’ which smashes it up against Cirez D’s (a.k.a. Eric Prydz) ‘Knockout’. We threw that little jam on this here blog not once but twice.

But this is today, and Paparazzi has shared with us his newest remixes—putting his twist on two of our the best things out there: Rochester NY’s finest club wrecker Kill The Noise and the ice creamy, dreamy, LA to NY electro punks Hearts Revolution. Epic win.

Paparazzi is resident DJ and ringleader at club DANCE at one of LA’s Arena in Los Angeles. It’s a lax 18+ to dance, 21+ to drink. Admittedly, the soundsystem is one of L.A.’s very best. If your curious peep the club’s MySpace or the official site, DanceAtArena.com for mo’ info & club photos.

Let me wrap this up with Paparazzi edit of the late great country & western hero Johnny Cash’s ‘Get Rhythm’ from 2006. Get yr toes tappin’ to teh rhythemzzz.

Cirez D/Eric Prydz.

Call-on-Me Cirez D/Eric Prydz.

When you think of the name Eric Prydz most likely spandex clad ladies doing pelvic thrusts come to mind. That because of the exciting video that accompanied his 2004 hit “Call on Me” which was an obvious remake of Steve Winwood’s ‘Valerie’. The song was catchy & the video was even catchier which I recommend you watch if you aren’t at work or your mom &/or girlfriend is not home.

Recently Eric remixed Pink Floyd’s “Another Brick In The Wall” which is titled ‘Proper Education’. Both songs are excellent, the latter even more so. However if that’s all that you’d heard from the Swedish producer you’d think of him as a somewhat chart topping producer, not capable of anything deeper.

Enter Cirez D, one of Eric’s many aliases. Under the name Cirez D he releases more of his dancetastic beats, but a little less poppy & tad bit darker. I picked up the Diamond Girl 12″ from Juno, mainly because of the title which reminded me of Nice ‘n Wild’s “Diamond Girl”. This isn’t a remake of that (although someone should totally redo that) but it is nice a solid track.

Eric Prydz only plays shows in and around Europe. He does not travel to the USA or Asia because he is reportedly scared of flying so all you Yankees are S.O.L. Add Eric on myspace.
