Halloween and horror inspire some great music. Here’s a few of my very favorite spooky tunes to get you in the mood. No ‘Thriller’ here—just rockabilly-punks The Cramps, shoegaze-y EDM Frenchies M83, composer for TV Milton DeLugg (covering TV composer Jack Marshall), Def-Juxian Hip Hop beatmaker RJD2, 80’s rap wiseguys DJ Jazzy Jeff & the Fresh Prince, and a Cousin Cole and Flufftronix remix of a Misfits punk classic.
Being seventeen and having a single at #1 on the Billboard hot 100 must have Chicago born Soulja Boy on top of the world. The track ‘Crank Dat’ has grown folks trying to perform his dance in clubs and bars across the nation. The beat is undeniably fresh on the original cut, but not easy to swallow for some. Luckily for us a gang of producers out there realized the song could use a tweak or two and these awesome remixes were birthed.
Soulja Boy’s album hits stores October 2nd, you can pre-order your copy here. Cousin Cole is one half of Flagrant Fowl and has done a myriad of remixes. Dave Nada just released his ‘Kick Out The Jams’ EP on Tittsworth & Ayres‘ label. A Juke Jams dj friendly CD will be available soon @ Turntable Lab.
