<p><a href="http://www.myspace.com/etjusticepourtous">Justice</a> do deserve the hype. You know the name, you know what they do&mdash;Here&#8217;s their latest, on the payroll of fashion design house, <a href="http://www.diorhomme.com/">Dior Homme</a> (that&#8217;s &#8220;Dior Man&#8221;, y&#8217;all). You can hear Justice&#8217;s new mix in action on the Dior Homme site in the <a href="http://www.diorhomme.com/content/homeen.html">&#8216;09 Spring/Summer fitting video</a>. This is very similar the collaboration between <a href="http://www.myspace.com/daftpunk">Daft Punk</a> and <a href="http://www.louisvuitton.com/">Louis Vuitton</a>, where Daft Punk supplied a mix to celebrate Vuitton&#8217;s &#8216;08 Spring/Summer collection.</p>
<p>The little mix is available for iPod consumption below:</p>
<p><strong>MP3:</strong> <a href="http://missingtoof.com/files/2008-08/kittens/Justice - Dior Homme Spring Summer 09 Mix.mp3">Justice &#8211; Dior Homme Spring/Summer &#8216;09 Mix</a> [15:41 | 22MB]</p>
<p>Stay fashionable. More photos of the Dior Homme Spring/Summer line, on the web at YouTube in two parts: <a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6qIBrDBUSGg">Part One</a> and <a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4EEdAaOfkR8">Part Two</a>, set to Justice, of course.</p>
<p>One more for good measure&mdash;in case you missed it&mdash;Daft Punk&#8217;s brief mix for Vuitton:</p>

<p>L.A.&#8217;s <a href="http://www.myspace.com/onoffonmusic">On Off On</a> (Andrew Verner) may have only been making electronic music for the past few years and remixing for only a fraction of that time, but shows us that he&#8217;s got quite the ear for busting out a good remix or two, as demonstrated here with his remixes of <a href="http://www.thedigitalism.com">Digitalism</a> (A Missingtoof Exclusive), <a href="http://www.tearsforfears.net">Tears For Fears</a>, and Stardust (for those of you that don&#8217;t know, was the one-time musical collaborative effort consisting of producers Thomas Bangalter (<a href="http://www.daftpunk.com">Daft Punk</a>), <a href="http://www.myspace.com/alan_braxe">Alan Braxe</a>, and <a href="http://www.myspace.com/k7benjamindiamond">Benjamin Diamond</a>)..</p>
<p>His plans for the future are simple- to get his music out to as many people as possible, and play in front of anyone willing to listen. Are you willing??</p>
<p>Here&#8217;s that Missingtoof Exclusive..</p>
<p><strong>MP3:</strong> <a href="http://missingtoof.com/files/2008-07/basura/Magnets (On Off On Remix).mp3">Digitalism- Magnets (On Off On Remix)</a></p>
<p>Here, On Off On chops and screws Tears For Fears&#8217; classic song, &#8216;Shout&#8217;, his way..</p>
<p><strong>MP3:</strong> <a href="http://missingtoof.com/files/2008-07/basura/Shout (On Off On Remix).mp3">Tears For Fears- Shout (On Off On Remix)</a></p>
<p>I tested this next remix out last week @ <a href="http://www.blowupsf.com">Blow Up</a> and the crowd went BANANAS. Here&#8217;s On Off On&#8217;s remix of Stardusts&#8217; classic, &#8216;Music Sounds Better With You&#8217;..</p>

<p>This last track, &#8216;Engine Down&#8217;, was made employing various samples On Off On found on the internet..can you spot some of the samples?!?</p>

<p><a href="http://www.myspace.com/telliersebastien">S&eacute;bastien Tellier</a>, that French craftsman of sound, has created what amounts to one of the year&#8217;s first outstanding albums. With his third long player album, &#8216;Sexuality&#8217;, Tellier makes sensual and airy electronica with hints of French pop and a heavy dose of traditional singer/songwriter crooning. It&#8217;s Classic Tellier, and the first we&#8217;ve heard from the maestro since the <a href="http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0889665/">Steak</a> film score <a href="http://missingtoof.com/v2/2007/06/13/mr-oizo-steak-score-patrick-122-transexual-ep/">we touched on last year</a>. More notches in the ever fuller discography of S&eacute;bastien Tellier, get fully acquainted at <a href="http://www.discogs.com/artist/S%C3%A9bastien+Tellier?noanv=1">Discogs</a>.</p>
<p>Oh, and is it worth mentioning that the &#8216;Sexuality&#8217; LP is produced by the man behind the mask, <a href="http://www.discogs.com/artist/Guy-Manuel+de+Homem-Christo">Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo</a>, better known as 1/2 of <a href="http://www.myspace.com/daftpunk">Daft Punk</a>? Yes? Thought so.</p>
<p>Enjoy these choice cuts among an album of choice cuts. The advance album has been in my playlist almost <i>daily</i> for over a month now:</p>

<p>Wow, it&#8217;s like sex for your ear with no messy cleanup! But, baby, we ain&#8217;t pulled out yet. Get a load of this mix by frequent collaborator, <a href="http://www.myspace.com/0sebastian0">SebastiAn</a>, of <a href="http://www.myspace.com/edbangerrecords">Ed Banger</a> fame, provides a signature choppy electrofied remix of the fashionable &#8216;Sexual Sportswear&#8217;:</p>

The cover gives equal time to the un-fairer sex. Here, now, is the Calvin Harris original and Dragonette&#8217;s gender-swapped cover.</p>

<p><a href="http://www.myspace.com/daftpunk">Daft Punk</a>&#8217;s Alive album dropped today&mdash;but you knew that already&mdash;of course, by the date circled on your calendar and the preceding long trail of X&#8217;s.</p>
<p>Like <i>everyone else</i> we&#8217;re excited to be able to hold on to the brilliant set from this year&#8217;s ALIVE tour. The mix that appears on the album was recorded during the <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Palais_Omnisports_de_Paris-Bercy">Palais Omnisports de Paris-Bercy</a> performance in Paris, France on June 14th. </p>
<p>We&#8217;re fortunate enough to have the brand new limited CD and a accompanying poster to give away. Winner picked at random from eligible entries. All you must do to enter is email the address below. Include your mailing address, and to make you work a little, count and tell us the current number of our Daft Punk related posts, found in our <a href="http://missingtoof.com/v2/tag/daft-punk">Daft Punk archive</a>.</p>
<p><strike><strong>Send your info to: <big><a href="mailto:missingtoof@missingtoof?subject=Daft_Punk_ALIVE_Contest">missingtoof@missingtoof.com</a></big><br />
Use the subject line: <big>“Daft Punk ALIVE Contest“</big></strong></strike><br />
<small>Done! Thanks for playing!</small></p>
<p>Born under a bad sign? Feeling unlucky? You can always purchase ALIVE on Amazon. Avaliable in <a href="http://www.amazon.com/gp/redirect.html?ie=UTF8&#038;location=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.amazon.com%2FAlive-2007-Daft-Punk%2Fdp%2FB000VS6PD2%3Fie%3DUTF8%26s%3Dmusic%26qid%3D1196833394%26sr%3D8-1&#038;tag=missingtoofco-20&#038;linkCode=ur2&#038;camp=1789&#038;creative=9325">Limited Edition CD</a> or <a href="http://www.amazon.com/gp/redirect.html?ie=UTF8&#038;location=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.amazon.com%2FAlive-2007%2Fdp%2FB000YBH2UG%3Fie%3DUTF8%26s%3Ddmusic%26qid%3D1196833394%26sr%3D8-3&#038;tag=missingtoofco-20&#038;linkCode=ur2&#038;camp=1789&#038;creative=9325">MP3 download</a> format.</p>
<p>You want a music fix now? Here&#8217;s some old (like, <i>old</i>) favorites to whet your appetites. Starting with the original A-side/B-side from their 1994 debut:</p>
<p><strong>MP3:</strong> Daft Punk &#8211; The New Wave (Full Length) (1994)<br />
<small>Removed upon request.</small></p>
<p><strong>MP3:</strong> Daft Punk &#8211; Assault (1994)<br />
<small>Removed upon request.</small></p>
<p>And for good measure a remix grab bag. First, the bootlegs: That <a href="http://www.myspace.com/wearevillains">Villains</a> remix we&#8217;re all up on, another from the ol&#8217; inbox by <a href="http://www.myspace.com/joolsmf">JoolsFM</a>. Next comes the official mixes: One from <a href="http://www.myspace.com/soulwax">Soulwax</a> and another from <a href="http://www.discogs.com/artist/Jess+&#038;+Crabbe">Jess and Crabbe</a>. And one that I think falls somewhere in the middle by <a href="http://www.myspace.com/versatilerec">I:Cube</a> (via <a href="http://fluokids.blogspot.com/2007/12/madeleine-vs-ice-cream.html">Floukids</a>):</p>
<p><strong>MP3:</strong> Daft Punk &#8211; Around the World (Villains More Cowbell DJ Edit)<br />
<small>Removed upon request.</small></p>
<p><strong>MP3:</strong> Daft Punk &#8211; Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger (JoolsMF Bandwagon Remix)<br />
<small>Removed upon request.</small></p>
<p><strong>MP3:</strong> Daft Punk &#8211; Robot Rock (Soulwax Remix)<br />
<small>Removed upon request.</small></p>
<p><strong>MP3:</strong> Daft Punk &#8211; Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger (Jess &#038; Crabbe Remix)<br />
<small>Removed upon request.</small></p>
<p><strong>MP3:</strong> Daft Punk &#8211; Around The World (I:Cube Unreleased Remix)<br />
<small>Removed upon request.</small></p>
<p>That&#8217;s a grip. Don&#8217;t forget to buy what <i>hasn&#8217;t</i> been posted here&#8230; the phenemonal <a href="http://www.amazon.com/gp/redirect.html?ie=UTF8&#038;location=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.amazon.com%2FAlive-2007-Daft-Punk%2Fdp%2FB000VS6PD2%3Fie%3DUTF8%26s%3Dmusic%26qid%3D1196833394%26sr%3D8-1&#038;tag=missingtoofco-20&#038;linkCode=ur2&#038;camp=1789&#038;creative=9325">ALIVE</a> album. </p>

<p>As you&#8217;ve probably noticed if you&#8217;ve been here recently, we&#8217;re <i>very</i> excited about <a href="http://www.myspace.com/wearevillains">Villains</a>. </p>
<p>Who better than than three young, but experienced, audio engineers to usher in the the new era of Los Angeles and US Electro sound? You&#8217;ve heard their remix of <a href="http://www.myspace.com/blocparty">Bloc Party</a> and their finesse of <a href="http://www.michaeljackson.com/">Michael Jackson</a> samples. So what&#8217;s next? The acid test, it seems, in this electronic music nich&eacute; is <i>the <a href="http://www.myspace.com/daftpunk">Daft Punk</a> remix</i>&mdash;they&#8217;re never in short supply and it seems that every would-be producer has one in their r&eacute;pertoire. For this benchmark of production ability, the Villains pass with flying colors, while the majority turn out as dull as alkaline.</p>

<p>Promoters&mdash;be smart&mdash;get Villains on your flyers, ASAP! DJs&mdash;be smart&mdash;Serato up these cuts tonight! Daft Punk&mdash;&mdash;come holler at your boys!</p>

<p>The <a href="http://missingtoof.com/v2/tag/under-the-covers/">Under The Covers</a> column returns! We&#8217;ve slowly been collecting more cover songs that run the gamut from awesome to odd to awful. All varieties are worth hearing! Listen in awe or disdainful laughter.</p>
<p><a href="http://www.myspace.com/thirtysecondstomars">30 Seconds to Mars</a> covers <a href="http://www.myspace.com/kanyewest">Kanye West</a>&#8217;s &#8216;Stronger&#8217; live on <a href="http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio1/">BBC Radio 1</a>. This falls into the laughable category even though frontman <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jared_Leto">Jared Leto</a> delivers the vocals so earnestly. They saved the <a href="http://www.myspace.com/daftpunk">Daft Punk</a> vocals, so don&#8217;t expect any. I&#8217;d be rolling if they tried.</p>
<p><strong>MP3:</strong> <a href="http://missingtoof.com/files/2007-11/kittens/music02/30 Seconds to Mars - Stronger (Kayne West Cover).mp3">30 Seconds to Mars &#8211; Stronger (Kayne West cover)</a></p>
<p>Ontario&#8217;s hardcore rockers <a href="http://www.jadetree.com/bands/artist/fucked_up">Fucked Up</a> covering <a href="http://www.myspace.com/etjusticepourtous">Justice</a>&#8217;s &#8216;Stress&#8217; a few months back. Fucking awesome.</p>
<p><strong>MP3:</strong> <a href="http://missingtoof.com/files/2007-11/kittens/music02/Fucked Up - Stress (Justice cover).mp3">Fucked Up &#8211; Stress (Justice cover)</a></p>
<p>File this under fantastic, I first heard do this <a href="http://www.myspace.com/pinkfloyd">Pink Floyd</a> cover at last month&#8217;s <a href="http://missingtoof.com/v2/2007/10/27/daft-punk-rage-against-the-machine-at-the-3rd-annual-vegoose-festival-in-las-vegas/">Vegoose festival</a> and was very impressed. Not many groups can come close to a classic, but the <a href="http://www.myspace.com/theshins">The Shins</a> <i>do</i>.</p>
<p><strong>MP3:</strong> <a href="http://missingtoof.com/files/2007-11/kittens/music02/The Shins - Breathe (Pink Floyd Cover).mp3">The Shins &#8211; Breathe (Pink Floyd Cover)</a></p>
<p><a href="http://www.myspace.com/thelemonheads">The Lemonheads</a> folk-rock version of <a href="http://www.myspace.com/themisfits">Misfits</a>&#8216; <a href="http://www.myspace.com/glendanzig">Danzig</a>-era punk classic &#8216;Skulls&#8217;. Fucking &#8216;ardcore!</p>
<p><strong>MP3:</strong> <a href="http://missingtoof.com/files/2007-11/kittens/music02/The Lemonheads - Skulls (Misfits cover).mp3">The Lemonheads &#8211; Skulls (Misfits cover)</a></p>
<p>And in that same vein, this <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zwan">Zwan</a> (<a href="http://www.myspace.com/billycorganmusic">Billy Corgan</a> of <a href="http://www.myspace.com/smashingpumpkins">Smashing Pumpkins</a> fame&#8217;s 2001-2003 project) cover of Metal gods <a href="http://www.myspace.com/ironmaiden">Iron Maiden</a> on &#8216;Mark of the Beast&#8217;. Probably one of my favorite covers comes at you from the <a href="http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0283003/">Spun</a> soundtrack.</p>
<p><strong>MP3:</strong> <a href="http://missingtoof.com/files/2007-11/kittens/music02/Zwan - Number of the Beast (Iron Maiden cover).mp3">Zwan &#8211; Number of the Beast (Iron Maiden cover)</a></p>
<p>Next up, <a href="http://www.myspace.com/lightspeedchampion">Lightspeed Champion</a> covering <a href="http://www.myspace.com/thebeatles">The Beatles</a> immortal <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_lennon">John Lennon</a>. Lightspeed Champion is Devonte Hynes or just &#8220;Dev&#8221;, formerly of thrash-rap-punk group <a href="http://www.myspace.com/testicicles">Test Icicles</a>. Test Icicles remains one of my favorite things ever. I seriously moaned and writhed while morning the death of the Test Icicles last year. But the musicians live on! Dev maintains a blog at <a href="http://www.theworldforgot.com/2007/11/13/lightspeed-champion/">TheWorldForgot.com</a>, there he puts up a great many home recordings&mdash;quite different from Test Icicles, but great in a whole new way:</p>
<p><strong>MP3:</strong> <a href="http://missingtoof.com/files/2007-11/kittens/music02/Lightspeed Champion - Better Off Dead (Elton John cover).mp3">Lightspeed Champion &#8211; Better Off Dead (Elton John cover)</a></p>
<p><a href="">Ladytron</a> getting sexy R&#8217;n'B&#8217;d out covering <a href="http://www.myspace.com/tweetsouthernhummingbird">Tweet</a>&#8217;s slut-anthem &#8216;Oops (Oh My)&#8217;. Y&#8217;all remember this original? With the <a href="http://www.myspace.com/timbaland">Timbaland</a> beat and <a href="http://www.myspace.com/missyelliott">Missy Elliot</a> doin&#8217; backup vocals? This cover appeared as a b-side on their &#8216;Evil&#8217; single:</p>
<p><strong>MP3:</strong> <a href="http://missingtoof.com/files/2007-11/kittens/music02/Ladytron - Oops (Oh My) (Tweet cover).mp3">Ladytron &#8211; Oops (Oh My) (Tweet cover)</a></p>
<p>And, perhaps, saving the best for last, three <a href="http://www.radiohead.com/">Radiohead</a> covers of <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Smiths">The Smiths</a>, <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/New_Order">New Order</a>, and <a href="http://www.myspace.com/bjork">Bj&ouml;rk</a> in a recent live webcast on their <a href="http://radiohead.com/deadairspace">Dead Air Space</a> promoting their newest LP, <a href="http://www.inrainbows.com/">In Rainbows</a>:</p>
<p><strong>MP3:</strong> <a href="http://missingtoof.com/files/2007-11/kittens/music02/Radiohead - The Headmaster Ritual (The Smiths cover).mp3">Radiohead &#8211; The Headmaster Ritual (The Smiths cover)</a></p>

<p>The infamous <a href="http://myspace.com/djkrames">Krames</a> of <a href="http://www.myspace.com/cobrakaiparty">Cobra Kai</a> party crew (Richmond, Virginia) teams up with Van City&#8217;s most bangin&#8217; party army; <a href="http://halfalive.ca/">1/2 Alive</a>. As we said in <a href="http://missingtoof.com/v2/2007/10/15/12alive/">our last 1/2 Alive post</a> they they keep it&#8217;s sweatier than a the devil&#8217;s drawls in the summer. Experience the madness first hand.</p>
<p>Krames knows how to work a remix like no other, recently he&#8217;s remixed the French powerhouse <a href="http://www.myspace.com/daftpunk">Daft Punk</a>, put out a jam with <a href="http://www.myspace.com/purplecrush">Purple Crush</a> and <a href="http://www.myspace.com/bmoredjscottieb">Scottie B</a>, mashed up <a href="http://www.myspace.com/bustarhymes">Busta Rhymes</a> and threw his take on <strong>Frankie Goes To Hollywood</strong>&#8217;s &#8216;Relax&#8217; vs <strong>Glenn Frey</strong>&#8217;s &#8216;You Belong To The City&#8217;. Wrap your ipod&#8217;s around these.</p>
<p><strong>MP3:</strong> &nbsp;<a href="http://missingtoof.com/files/2007-11/disaster/1/whatmore.mp3">Daft Punk &#8211; What More Time (Krames remix)</a></p>

<p>And, I know you guys know that Krames teamed up with <a href="http://www.myspace.com/birdpeterson">Bird Peterson</a> and drop a 13 minute little mixtape for y&#8217;all. If you didn&#8217;t, sleep no more. </p>
<p><strong>MP3:</strong> &nbsp;<a href="http://missingtoof.com/files/2007-11/disaster/fangsandfeathers.mp3">Krames &#038; Bird Peterson &#8211; Fangs &#038; Feathers</a></p>
<p>He&#8217;s been a busy boy and if you roll to this party and your Nikes are laced up right you should be getting busy with a fly honey by the end of the night. Somebody with a bankroll bring Krames back to the bay. I got five on it.</p>
