URB Magazine and TS1 kick-off the annual Winter Music Conference week with the exclusive performance of electro-godfather DJ Hell, Tommie Sunshine, Jesse Rose, LA Riots, Treasure Fingers and James F!@#$%^ Friedman and the Miami debut of BLOW UP DJZ!
For 15 years, URB Magazine deliveres the authentic voice to music simmering below the surface. TS1 helmed by Sean Patrick is like a roaming art exhibit housed inside of a bar bringing true LA (not Hollywood) culture to Miami.
Sooo, there was a little secret Ed Banger party in West Hollywood tonight at the infamous Viper Room, courtesy of Scion and Vice. In addition to Busy P, Kavinsky and SebastiAn, Justice decided to make an unannounced appearance, which is always nice. Thanks to Busy P for flying the boys in between their gig in Japan and their gig in Finland! With so much of the Ed Banger roster in the house they made it a fun rotation—DJing their signature sound with their tried and true CDJ setup.
Our boy C-Town also DJ’d the opening slot—just after conducting interviews with the Ed Banger gang. The transcription of that meeting is sure to show up in his little monthly rag called, Anthem Magazine. Just like his recent cover-story interview with Daft Punk that’s on news stands now in the current issue (with a Daft Punk photography spread shot by Hedi Slimane, which is breathtaking).
This right here is a music blog so let’s have some music! We love Edward Banger. We’re so friendly we call ‘em Ed. You like remixes, let’s do this! Tracks from Revl9n, Klaxons, Justin Timberlake & DJ Hell.
Kid Alex (a.k.a. Alexander Ridha and Boys Noize) the electro-tech prodigy has been dropping bombs on fools with his hard hitting tracks since he was signed to Gigolo Records by Dj Hell himself back in 2003.
Under the moniker Boys Noize he’s remixed the likes of Bloc Party, The Kreeps, Tiga & he produced a mind bending remix of the Kaiser Chiefs’ ‘Everyday I Love You less and Less’. Go cop that KC remix if you can find it.
Download these tracks off his 2006 Restless release and just try not to do the chair dance.
