Skeet Skeet under the pseudonym Bwomp lateraled this little demo and I'm gonna rush it. Not much to say, except it's possibly unmastered & you'll likely recognize the samples from Chicago house heavyweight Green Velvet's 2001 club-drug anthem 'La La Land' (my favorite).
Another track in heavy-rotation this last month, is this tune Skeet, along with blowin'-up Brooklynite AC Slater produced with a little help from the rappin' pipes of U.K. emcee Goldielocks. It's a remix of 'Toof favorite & London disco-pop-diva Little Boots's 'Meddle'.
Those rollin' to WMC in Miami next week need to check out DJ Skeet Skeet's 'A Party Worth Blogging About' daytime party, presented by his hipster blog, Eatskeet.com and the hipster-est of hipster blogs (& consequently, our blog heroes) Hipsterrunoff.com. The line-up is deep. If you're in Miami next week you need this. It's free to RSVP.
It's always nice when things we like collide! This is like some MFin' rainbow sprinkles & butterscotch on my strawberry frogurt right here!
What it is, is, N.Y. posse, Leif (once PalmsOut representer) doing a workover of Glass Candy's homage to 5th Ward gangsters, Geto Boys, on the track, 'Geto Boys'. It's got that Geto Boys 'Mind Playin' Tricks on Me' sample that's forever fresh.
And since we haven't had a wholly Leif-centric post since his 'Flossy Bounce' EP years ago, let's keep good ch00nz coming with these: The track 'Black Magic' & remixes from last year's 'Black Magic Promo EP'. Nice work in the original & in the remixes from Swedish houser The Touch with the haunting vocals of Swedish singer Lina and the other from fellow New Yorkers, Stay High that takes a fidget/dubstepped approach.
Keeping the good stuff coming, I must say I'm quite partial to this cover of Stockholm's finest siren, Lykke Li. Leif's voice is so far apart from Lykke Li's—& the vibe is so different—yet it works just the same. An interesting take:
Purchase last year's 'Black Magic EP', the sixth release on blog-gone-label, Palms Out Records, through Beatport.com. And sit tight for Leif's soon-to-be-released next solo EP, as well as and EP with his band Kids in the Garden, the reincarnation of the late, Aries Noise.
Los Angeles (and-sometimes-Tokyo) resident Eli Smith, VP from the So Sweet Records crew, just put down this first original release that is hella party tune. The title is an apt pun: 'Party All Knight'. When I hear it I do kinda feel like partying (and maybe a little jousting). …Now, I've heard Eli Smith DJs live shows in chainmail armor under ever-waving banners of So Sweet heraldry—O.K. I kid, I kid! To borrow from the the words of the label, "Party All Knight was written as a tribute to people who never want the party to end, those don't know when to stop partying, and those who do know when to stop, but carry on partying anyway….. including Michael Phelps". Zing!
That track right there is mastered by Computer Club which is a guarantee it will bang the hell out in your DJ sets on the big monitors.
And if yew never knew, Eli Smith was, once upon a time, the drummer for a little Los Angeles based indie band called Moving Units. Oh, you've heard of them? They're one of my very favorites too! You're probably aware that the lead singer of Moving Units, Blake Miller is on the So Sweet label as one half of Lies In Disguise with Le Castle Vania. This tune is worth your time as well: 'Meet Your Replacement' is Lies in Disguise's latest offering:
Birmingham, UK has a powerhouse of sound in Will Bailey (a.k.a. Rudi Stakker). Formerly half of short-lived fidget outfit Twocker (with Calvertron), and owner of startup label Simma, Will Bailey makes world-renowned tracks in the emerging fidget house sub-genre. It's something that sounds a bit of UK garage, electro house, drum'n'bass and breakbeat thrown in a martini shaker and poured over a 4/4 time signature (don't forget the olive). Will Bailey shares the Fidget umbrella with the likes of Crookers, Stupid Fresh & Mickey Slim, just to name a few.
Just in, Will Bailey has shared with us his throbbing remix of Southside Queens hip-hop hero, Pharoahe Monch (who you know we got love for, peep the profile of Monch & his former group, Organized Konfusion in this post from last year). This is perhaps taking a cue from the electro-minded remix by Edinbergh's Hostage. If you've heard 'em all, how's this compare? I think this is huge:
Here's another Will Bailey banger with additional production from fellow Birmingham "producer/engineer/DJ" Mikey Hook, he's not much older than seventeen and already smashing tracks with the big boys.
And for good measure, here's that Twocker sound that you've grown to love (or you should have). It's a remix of their only original single (with the exception of the 'Chopper' B-side) as remixed by other major fidget playboys, Sydney's Bass Kleph. Love teh wonk:
And yo, we ain't even finished yet! To match the exclusive remix at the top, here's a mix to match. Recorded hot on the heels of Will Bailey's recent gig trip to L.A. to play Nocturnal Wonderland. California love:

The New York DJ/producer extrodinaire, Larry Tee unveiled his song 'Licky' at the Winter Music Conference and it smash hit. The 12 inch was released on HOLON Germany with a remixes by Kris Menace, Lutzenkirchen and Product 01. But lately the Herve remix has been getting a gang of club love. I've heard this track dropped in sets the last 5 times I went out and the crowd goes bananas for it every time.
Juno has been sold out of the original 12 inch for a minute now and Turntable Lab and ebay are dried up as well. Hit up your local vinyl slanger or visit Larry Tee's myspace.
