Australian New Wavers INXS recorded their most popular, ‘I Need You Tonight’, in 1987. And here’s evidence of its long standing popularity—we’ve received not one—but two freshly cooked remixes of the track this week. One from busy BKLYN electro/rock remixers Streetlab and another from electro heads ‘cross the pond, French collective, Fisher Preyes, of which you should already be acquainted.
But on a lighter note, I can’t in good conscience let this other Streetlab track slip by, it’s called ‘NYSound’ and it’s reppin’ the state proper. Consider this a necessary addendum.
Fisher Preyes is from Paris. She is the woman behind the scenes. Along with her team of boys, she crafts fashionable dance remixes. The larger collective call themselves “FPcrew”. We like them all (and hope that one unnamed toy company doesn’t send them cease and desist letters).
A nice stream of FPcrew remixes have flooded our inbox recently. Fine bootlegs that run gamut from underground to pop. The best from dancey Londoners Disco Damage, American pop icon Prince, São Paulo metal-gone-electro outfit Mixhell and a dance club remix of Manchester indie rockers Maudite Dance.
