Buy Now (Sebastian Ingrosso & Steve Angello): ‘For Sale’ remixes by Felix da Housecat, Henrik B & Plec / ‘Body Crash’ Flufftronix Edit

buynow Buy Now (Sebastian Ingrosso & Steve Angello): For Sale remixes by Felix da Housecat, Henrik B & Plec / Body Crash Flufftronix Edit

For a minute, Buy Now was my secret weapon. Swedish house heavyweights Sebastian Ingrosso & Steve Angello, collectively know as Buy Now are masters of their niché. Their ‘For Sale’ is the perfect blend of progression, synth and the all-important cowbell. Well now let’s open up the arsenal and get all NRA with it! For a track first surfacing in 2005, this one sounds like it was made tomorrow. Secret weapon declassified:

But that’s not all—2007 saw a couple heavyweight remixes by Chicago houser Felix da Housecat and a collaboration between Swede housers Henrik B & Plec (who also does metal—undoubtedly the one who threw down the heavy guitars)

In 2006, Buy Now put out a “bookend-style” track called ‘Sold’. Which is better: ‘For Sale’ or ‘Sold’. I dunno, you tell us!

MP3: Buy Now - Sold (Original Mix Edit)

Ok, coolness tracks right? But maybe you’re wondering “why now?” Well, Buy Now are back with a new track, ‘Body Crash’ slated for an early ‘08 release. And just today, our boy Flufftronix took the as-yet-unreleased Buy Now single and beefed up the drums. It’s charmingly bootleg to the core—produced from a radio rip (un-released! duh!). But, do you know what? The levels sound pretty damned good; I guess when you’re a Low-Bee board Ol’ Head, you can do that kind of wacky audio alchemy:

I won’t post ‘Body Crash’ original until a legit version shows itself—however—I will point you in the direction of the zShare link to hear the rip from Pete Tong’s Radio 1 program.

Want some records? Juno’s got a grip on these fellas.

Spooky Halloween tunes from The Cramps, M83, Milton DeLugg, RJD2, DJ Jazzy Jeff & the Fresh Prince, & Misfits remixed by Cousin Cole & Flufftronix

halloween Spooky Halloween tunes from The Cramps, M83, Milton DeLugg, RJD2, DJ Jazzy Jeff & the Fresh Prince, & Misfits remixed by Cousin Cole & Flufftronix

Halloween and horror inspire some great music. Here’s a few of my very favorite spooky tunes to get you in the mood. No ‘Thriller’ here—just rockabilly-punks The Cramps, shoegaze-y EDM Frenchies M83, composer for TV Milton DeLugg (covering TV composer Jack Marshall), Def-Juxian Hip Hop beatmaker RJD2, 80’s rap wiseguys DJ Jazzy Jeff & the Fresh Prince, and a Cousin Cole and Flufftronix remix of a Misfits punk classic.

MP3: The Cramps - I Was a Teenage Werewolf (1980)

MP3: M83 - Car Chase Terror (2005)

MP3: Milton DeLugg - Munsters Theme (196x)

MP3: RJD2 - The Horror (2002)

MP3: DJ Jazzy Jeff & The Fresh Prince - Nightmare on my Street (1988)

MP3: Misfits - Halloween (Cousin Cole vs. Flufftronix Remix) (2006)

Spooky stuff. What are y’all going to be this year? I’m a dog that thinks he’s human. I’m also going as a beligerent drunk—but aren’t we all…

Flufftronix - Summer Transit Insanity Mix

flufftronix Flufftronix - Summer Transit Insanity Mix

This is a “sister post” to go with the last one where we gave a speil about our bay-area club tonight with Curtis Vodka & Flufftronix tonight at the Fahrenheit Ultra Lounge in San Jose. The previous post happened to focused on Curtis Vodka, and this one will give some breathing room to Flufftronix.

Flufftronix gave us his mix a couple days ago and it came with this little verbage:

Before leaving for tour, I spent 2 days straight getting my driver’s license unsuspended, so I could drive Curtis and myself around the US and Canada on this tour we’re doing. My saint of a mother was nice enough to shuttle me around the Chicago and Northwestern Indiana to three different courthouses and four licensing buildings. Between those drive and the flight to LA I put this kinda ridiculous mix together.

Presumably this joint was done in Ableton Live (or perhaps something similar) and ain’t nothing wrong with that!

Tracklisting:

  1. Fields - If You Fail (Badlands Remix)
  2. Geto Boys - Damn It Feels Good to be a Gangsta
  3. Peter Gabriel - In Your Eyes
  4. Li’l Mama - Lip Gloss (Dopewerewolf Remix)
  5. The Glamour - Shake That
  6. FPU - Crockett’s Theme
  7. INXS - Need You Tonight
  8. TEPR - Minuit Jacuzzi
  9. Crookers - Aguas de Parcao
  10. d’Kawa - Kurokin (DJ Deeon Mix)
  11. Flufftronix - The End of Young Folks (PB+J & Splash Band)

Missingtoof event with Curtis Vodka & Flufftronix in San Jose tonight!

Missingtoof-Curtis_Vodka_Flufftronix-SanJose-July23 Missingtoof event with Curtis Vodka & Flufftronix in San Jose tonight!

Missingtoof is excited to bring Curtis Vodka & Flufftronix to the bay tonight for one of the first stops on their ‘Straight Outta Nowhere Tour’ through the US. It goes down tonight, Tuesday, July 24th, at the Fahrenheit Ultra Lounge in San Jose. It’s free before 11 with RSVP.

Curtis Vodka, hails from Anchorage Alaska but gets down official with the Baltimore Club / Bmore scene. Turntable Lab’s sellin’ the goods like his brand new mix CD, ‘I Just Fucked Your Girlfriend‘. They also got his prior, ‘Heavy Hittaz (Baltimore) EP‘ (split with Al Ripken Jr.). Here’s a sample:

MP3: Curtis Vodka - Hey Girl Part 2

Also, he had a Bmore club smasher last year with his debut release, ‘The Yeti Bounce EP‘ on Hollertronix label, Flamin Hotz. Get a whif of the product, but know that this product is sold out:

MP3: Curtis Vodka - Diamonds & Cream

Dude also does grips of unofficial remixes too, some you can find in our Curtis Vodka archive. Here’s another for the pile—a newer Ladytron remix of a not-so-new favorite:

MP3: Ladytron - Destroy Everything You Touch (Curtis Vodka Satanic Drum Version)

Flufftronix, reps Bloomington, Indiana where he throws the hella cool Electrocute Parties. Instead of tacking on the brand new mix he gave us, there will be a “sister post” immediately after this one to showcase his new ‘Summer Transit Insanity Mix’ (go to the post now). Also, go back and give another listen to his ‘Upbeat Remix’ of Uffie’s ‘First Love’ in the Flufftronix archive.

Uffie - First Love

uffie Uffie - First Love

Uffie’s not only a girl who’s ready to fornicate, she’s also ready to love. This is definitely a different sound that we are used to hearing from Ed Bangers first lady. When I first heard it I thought someone was pulling my bike chain. But the tale-tell production and little Uffie idiosyncrasies shine thorough and you can tell it’s the real deal.

& as a bonus peep her other new track ‘Brand New Car’.

UPDATE, as another bonus, here’s an upbeat mix of Uffie’s ‘First Love’ by Flufftronix:
