The man, the myth, the legend, Larry Tee is in the building. The man credited with coining the phrase ‘electroclash’ brings his world class skill to the Bay Area, tonight @ French Kiss. DJ Mykill and Forever 21 also throwing down the fresh vinyl.
Larry Tee’s 2003 ‘Electroclash mix’ was on super repeat when it first came out & it still gets heavy rotation here at Missingtoof headquarters. Here’s a few fresh slices from the mix which should wet your whistle for tonight.
The New York DJ/producer extrodinaire, Larry Tee unveiled his song ‘Licky’ at the Winter Music Conference and it smash hit. The 12 inch was released on HOLON Germany with a remixes by Kris Menace, Lutzenkirchen and Product 01. But lately the Herve remix has been getting a gang of club love. I’ve heard this track dropped in sets the last 5 times I went out and the crowd goes bananas for it every time.
Juno has been sold out of the original 12 inch for a minute now and Turntable Lab and ebay are dried up as well. Hit up your local vinyl slanger or visit Larry Tee’s myspace.
This puts NYPC in some great company! Their debut album, ‘Fantastic Playroom’ (Buy it!) was a long time coming. Their break-through single ‘Ice Cream’ was featured in a major advertisement campaign for Intel, as well as countless mixtape, radio and club playlists all over the world.
Great songs become remix juggernauts. Interesting that ‘Ice Cream’ was originally released in 2004 on UK label Tirk Records before finding it’s next home on Aussie label, Modular. ‘Ice Cream’ is a great song and is absolutely a juggernaut. The is still getting it’s remix fix and just received some new remix jobs from, most recently by Tiga and, previously, Hervé, Van She and The Hooks, among others.
Pick up the singles and you’ll realize there are so many remixes of ‘Ice Cream’! Now seriously, Pick them up from Amazon and HMV. Strictly for the hardcore, NYPC has a merch site with shirts and mugs and junk. We gots one, we hardcore!
