Gorilla vs Bear posted a Glass Candy (I guess they’ve dropped the & ‘The Shattered Theatre’ portion of their name) cover of Cyndi Lauper’s ‘Iko Iko’ & a cover of Kraftwerk’s ‘Computer Love’ which are pretty tasty. You’ll love them if you are down with the Chromatics sound which if you have good taste, you are.
Still, I’m more fond of the 2002 scream/rock Glass Candy & The Shattered Theatre sound. I remember seeing G.C. playing at ‘The Outhouse’ which was nothing more than a little shack behind Los Gatos High School. Ida No’s high powered vocals & Saran Wrap skirt had every pimple faced teenager’s eyes glued to the stage. Okay, maybe the skirt wasn’t Saran Wrap, but that shit was plastic & see through.
