Frances newest electro darlings Mintel Rose have recently released their first CD, or EP rather. It’s seven songs of pulsating chords and chugging basslines glazed with the creamiest vocals that only French boys harmonizing can make. The album is appropriately titled ‘The French Machine’ because that is definitely what these boys are; a well greased production outfit. Soak in the goodness.

We’re still loving the output of French collective Valerie. Have y’all heard Maethelvin? It falls somewhere between modern Kavinsky tunes and iconic ’80s TV and movie themes like Jan Hammer’s theme from Miami Vice or Harold Faltermeyer’s ‘Axel F’ from Beverly Hills Cop.

Minitel Rose

Minitel Rose is an electro/dance trio hailing from Paris, France and they are card carrying members of Valerie. Valerie is not a blog, but a collective composed of music artists in the west of France. In other words a label, right? No, in an interview with Valerie act College on kidzbycollete the band says that Valerie is not a label, yet. Mostly due to lack of funds. But maybe one day. Could Valerie be the next huge French label? With artists like Minitel Rose, College, Anoraak, The Outrunners & Maethelvin we believe that may be what the future holds.

Check out these remixes by Minitel Rose, including Valerie’s official theme which I can’t stop listening to. Am I trippin’ or is the sample they used in the theme from Gerry Rafferty’s Baker Street?
