<p><a href="http://www.hungryeyerecords.com">Hungry Eye Records</a>, home to well-respected bands like <a href="http://www.myspace.com/cuckoocachoo ">The Vanishing</a> &amp; <a href="http://www.myspace.com/16sssss">The Sixteens</a>, is now home to <a href="http://www.myspace.com/mtsims">Mt. Sims</a> (Who at one point used to be the musical vision of one Matt Sims, but is now a full-on band). </p>
<p><img src="http://www.missingtoof.com/2008-07/basura/mtsimsband.jpg" title="Mt. Sims A Grave EP" alt="mtsimsband Mt. Sims A Grave EP" /></p>
<p>Speaking in the most general aspect, with their now much darker, brooding sound, Mt. Sims would fit pretty well between some <a href="http://www.myspace.com/joydivision">Joy Division</a>, <a href="http://www.shewantsrevenge.com">She Wants Revenge</a>, &amp; <a href="http://www.bauhausmusik.com">Bauhaus</a> (Mt. Sims actually had some production help from David J. on their last album, &#8216;Wild Light&#8217;).</p>
<p>Here are two tracks from &#8216;A Grave&#8217;, perfect for any death disco:</p>
<p><strong>MP3:</strong> <a href="http://missingtoof.com/files/2008-07/basura/02 Grave (final).mp3">Mt. Sims- Grave</a></p>
<p><strong>MP3:</strong> <a href="http://missingtoof.com/files/2008-07/basura/Lost In the Dark (final).mp3">Mt. Sims- Lost In the Dark</a></p>
<p>What I like about Mt. Sims is, whether as a solo project or a band, they are musically adaptable. Having released two previous (more nu-electro-club sounding) albums on dance music juggernaut label <a href="http://www.gigolorecords.com">International Deejay Gigolos</a> and having toured with the likes of big-name acts like <a href="http://www.myspace.com/ladytron">Ladytron</a> &amp; <a href="http://www.myspace.com/peaches">Peaches</a>, we hear how versatile Mt. Sims&#8217; sound really is. </p>
<p>Here are two cuts off of Mt. Sims&#8217; first album, &#8216;Ultra Sex&#8217;:<br />
<img src="http://www.missingtoof.com/2008-07/basura/ultrasex.jpg" title="Mt. Sims A Grave EP" alt="ultrasex Mt. Sims A Grave EP" /></p>
<p><strong>MP3:</strong> <a href="http://missingtoof.com/files/2008-07/basura/01 How We Do.mp3">Mt. Sims- How We Do</a></p>
<p><strong>MP3:</strong> <a href="http://missingtoof.com/files/2008-07/basura/04 Unspeakable.mp3">Mt. Sims- Unspeakable</a></p>
<p>If you like the darker sounds of Mt. Sims of the present, you may find a liking to other acts over at <a href="http://www.hungryeyerecords.com">Hungry Eye Records</a>. If you like your beats more electronic and clubby, and enjoy Mt. Sims&#8217; sound of the past, check out the <a href="http://www.gigolorecords.com">International Deejay Gigolos</a> website. Either way, you&#8217;re in for some great music. But who says you have to choose?? Visit both sites!</p>
