London based producer/DJ Sinden, who is known for his genre-spanning mixes and dancefloor packing anthems, does it again with this brand new remix of electro darlings Crystal Castles‘ remix of noise-band HEALTH’s ‘Crimewave’. Ethan and Alice already danced up the original track but Sinden takes it to the next level perhaps spawning a new club anthem for the fall.
Be sure to check out Sinden’s remix of Björk’s Innocence in our previous post. If you live and play in the Bay Area, Sinden will be at Vessel SF on September 24th. Crystal Castles touch down Oct 29th and in November HEALTH graces us with their noisy presence. Mark them google calendars.
Buy Crystal Castles’ self-titled CD from insound. HEALTH’s self titled album can be procured from Lovepump Unilimted and check out Sinden productions in the iTunes store.
Icelandic treasure, Björk—always relevant, always amazing—has always gained strength partly from knowing how to pick collaborators & partners. From husband & aberrant artist Matthew Barney to diverse creative partners like Thom Yorke, Tricky, Chris Cunningham, Lars von Trier & Spümcø just to name a small handful.
Working with only the best, Björk & London label One Little Indian have enlisted Berlin’s Modeselektor & Londoner, Sinden to remix her latest single, ‘Dull Flame of Desire’ (b/w ‘Innocence’). This is fresh from the padded mailer. You heard it here first:

It’s time for a spankin’ new video premier from London’s The Black Ghosts, in the continuing video series brought to you by The Black Ghosts and IAMSOUND records, curated by CULT-GEIST and presented jointly on Missingtoof and Big Stereo.
The fifth release in the eleven video release series is for ‘Full Moon’, by Berlin filmmaker John Clegg and shot on Super 8.
DJ Bald Eagle has been keepin’ it real deal Holyfield out in Chi-town for a minute now. He’s currently currator of a number of parties including Life During Wartime and Prime Time Of Your Life. Bald Eagle took a break from his busy schedule to bestow upon us some fresh edits. Try these on for size.
These two edits are apart of a series that will eventually be released as a mixtape. If you’ve never heard a Bald Eagle mixtape you can grab his last one here.
There’s also a Bald Eagle Codebreaker remix waiting in the wings. Keep a hawk eye out for that piece. Add Bald Eagle on the myspace.
Chromeo is the duo of fantastically talented best-friends Dave 1 & P-Thugg. They are frequently referenced for their only-half-way-kidding self-description of being, “the only successful Arab and Jewish collaboration since the beginning of time!” Dave is the Jew and Pee is the Arab, but I don’t care about no things but the music!
Chromeo is back in 2007 with their critically-acclaimed sophomore album, ‘Fancy Footwork’. An album that follows “Electrofunk” trend established with their debut album, 2004’s ‘She’s in Control’.
The video above is their first official video from ‘Fancy Footwork’. Directed by Jérémie Rozan & Martial Schmeltz with the Surface 2 Air agency in Paris, ‘Tenderoni’ is fun and fresh. Surface to Air is also responsible for all the recent Chromeo artwork for the singles and album, not to mention a little video called ‘Never Be Alone‘ by Justice vs Simian.
Take the tune from the video with you. You love it! Or, maybe you’ll like the MSTRKRFT or Sinden remix instead?
The track ‘Tenderoni’ has remixes and is catching up, but, still not nearly as many as their dance-party pleaser, ‘Fancy Footwork’, which got re-works by Guns’N'Bombs, Surkin, d.i.m. and more. There are many different ways to get yr footwerk fancy:
And for good measure (cuz we we were long overdue on a Chromeo post!), a Bloc Party remix of ‘Needy Girl’, the single from ‘She’s in Control’. I adore this remix!
Now everything Chromeo does is brilliant and we highly recommend the albums, ‘Fancy Footwork’ and ‘She’s in Control’ from Amazon. Additional sources to buy (and sample) are found on Chromeo’s MySpace or their official site.
