Everyone’s favorite overzealous hip hop producer-turned rapper, Kanye West recently released the auto-tune ladden single “Love Lockdown” which he performed on the 2008 VMA’s and will appear on his 4th full length release ‘808’s & Heartbreak‘. The single recived mixed reviews from fans/critics. Tom Wrecks, a.k.a. T-wrecks from Canada’s world renowned Stylusts crew takes the track for a different danced up spin.

Time to check in on the 2006 Canadian Team DMC champs Stylusts. The crew is comprised of Missingtoof faves Drastik, T-Wrecks, Illo and Kid SL. If you guys have been reading Missingtoof for more than a little bit you’ll have seen our posts on Drastik’s amazing mixes ‘Drastik Pleasures’ & ‘Electro House mix’. We’ve also thrown up T-Wrecks’ dope ass remix of Lloyd’s get it Shawty. Now, Illo is bustin’ out the jams with his 50 Cent ‘Ayo Tehnology’ mix.

Life ain’t always dance clubs & roses. And that’s what this mix is about. Drastik made this around a time when certain aspects of his life weren’t necessarily going the way he wanted & it reflects in the song selection. The vibe, mood, etc. is captured very well throughout the mix and kind of puts you in the state of mind he was in.

Despite having burst our bandwidth last month, we are posting yet another mix this week, but you know, when you stumble upon a diamond like this, you just gotta flaunt it. Drastik is an exceptional dj & producer who hails from Ottawa, Ontario. This mix is just a sample of what he’s capable of. The tracklist speaks for itself, but I can tell you that the whole mix is on point. He had me at Intro, but when he threw in Trevor Loveys and Sinden’s Organ Grinder (which heavily samples Giorgio Moroder’s ‘Tears’ which was first heavily sampled by DJ Shadow on Organ Donor) I was ready to propose.
