The Black Ghosts – Don’t Cry (Dir. Jack Pettibone Riccobono & Kai Regan)

Monday brings another video premier from London’s The Black Ghosts—all part of the continuing video series brought to you by The Black Ghosts and IAMSOUND Records, curated by CULT-GEIST and presented jointly on Missingtoof and Big Stereo.

The video is shot directed by N.Y. based filmakers, Jack Pettibone Riccobono and Kai Regan.

The final installment of the CULT-GEIST video series will be ‘Face’ featured on Big Stereo next Monday, on the eve of the record’s release. All previous videos are available together at IAMSOUND’s page on Imeem.

On the download end, we have dub’d out remix (The Black Ghosts are perfect for this) from a pair of U.K.’s bestest dubstep heroes, Skream and Plastician (Plastician also has a wicked album out today, dig it at Amazon).

Monday! It’s time for a spankin’ new video premier from London’s The Black Ghosts, in the continuing video series brought to you by The Black Ghosts and IAMSOUND records, curated by CULT-GEIST and presented jointly on Missingtoof and Big Stereo.

Today brings the video for what will be the first “official” single from the album (although the video above will not be the “official” video), ‘Repetition Kills You’, featuring the supremely talented singer (& all around rockstar), Damon Albarn of British alt-pop band, Blur & cartoon-crossover phenomenon, Gorillaz. The video is directed by Parisian music journalist & director, Sarah Hay. The video pays simultaneously homage to famous French New Wave director Jean Luc Goddard’s Bande à part film and and the classic video game Pac-Man, obviously playing off the influence of Parisian artist Invader.

The series began two Mondays ago with ‘Some Way Through This’ and continued last week with Big Stereo debuting ‘Any Way You Choose to Give It’. Remember, alternating Mondays, ‘Toof and Stereo bring you new vids from The Black Ghosts. Chuch.

This video is directed by Boston U. alumni, Nick Barnes, and animated by Los Angeles artist, Stephen Tompkins.

Wow! I'm not usually a hater but that was awful I couldn't even endure the whole video. It had no redeeming qualities and makes The Black Ghosts look awful. Which they are not. A beautiful song a terrible video. I think the only way I could feel okay about that is if my 9 yr old sister called me and said I made a video for the black ghosts but I had to rush it and it started as a bad joke.

London’s The Black Ghosts are what’s right with music today. We are excited to be collaborating with The Black Ghosts and IAMSOUND Records to bring to you, a series of music videos featuring The Black Ghosts music, made by talented filmmakers. Get your stream on!

Over the next two months, Missingtoof and our bigger bro, Big Stereo, will be debuting new videos from The Black Ghosts every Monday (alternating between our site and theirs). This will be building up to The Black Ghosts debut self-titled release on July 8th! I know I’m excited. Will the record be this generation’s “The Sounds of Silence” with a bassline? Perhaps! I’m very optimistic.

We typically avoid using press-release information verbatim, but the sentence explaining the video above can’t be improved on: “An ordinary day in the life of a gay couple of thieves with relationship problems.” The video is directed by young Brazilian film maker, Paulinho Caruso.

The next video, for the single, ‘Anyway You Choose To Give It’, will be premiered next Monday, May 12th, on Big Stereo (it alternates, get it?).

Some a-hole stole the car stereo last night. And the ipod. AND a pair off knock-off sunglasses. weaksauce. MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ME!

And I had just made the playlist of the century.
Grrr!

I’m gonna miss listening to beats in traffic. And since it’s Christmas time and I’m broker than usual it’s gonna be a minute before we can re-up on equipment.
