Vancouver electro purveyors Dustin & Garret (a.k.a. D&G) are in the studio as we speak diligently working to finish a new EP. If you remember D&G are the duo responsible for the Three 6 Mafia remix of Stay Fly we posted back in March. The tack is an unadulterated club banger. The boys were kind enough to give us a little taste of what’s to come from camp D&G.
The Bay Boy of the year Cutso stays on point like a pyramid. He is a DJ & producer, Music Machine curator, frequent Victim guest DJ & general purveyor of good tunes. Last week he laced us with a few tracks from his Special Blend series.
Cutso and his world famous crew The Fingerbangerz tore up the spot at The Riottt festival last November and shared the stage with the likes of Clipse, Girl Talk & The Rapture to name a few.
He’s gonna be guest djaying at the next Victim which is may 18th. And dont miss Music Machine, Every first Saturday of the month. You won’t hear that same top 40 you hear over and over again at any other downtown spot. Only the cream of the crop.
& they don’t just keep it new school, they take it back. They will amaze you with their vinyl vernacular and have everyone in attendance saying ‘OH SHIT!’ when they lay down some shit you haven’t heard since the 8th grade prom. Be sure to get their early because it WILL reach capacity.
Visit Cutso’s Myspace for more tracks & booking info.
Tell him we sent you.
Ddddddamn son, was all I could say when I heard this remix of Three 6 Mafia’s ode to weed, alcohol & bitches; ‘Stay Fly’ (featuring 8ball & MJG). Listen to the soaring, distorted riffs the boys added to the cut. Sounds like Kavinsky &/or Justice were in the studio helping engineer this piece.
Dustin & Garret a.k.a. D&G hail from Vancouver, Canada & as their myspace states they are back & “about to bring back retro rave… fuck your New Rave”! Check out the boys original works, I’m really liking ‘Weekend’.
D&G also have a side project called We Are Dirty Dirty, peep the scene. Stay fly.
