Fresh out of the gates, L.A.’s Romeo Erotic have hit a soft spot with their remix of O’Bryan’s 1983 electro-R&B (some say “Funk”) jam ‘I’m Freaky’. I caught this remix of an old favorite in the shuffle of Posso the DJ’s recent mix and was intrigued. If you don’t recall, it goes a little something like this:
Romeo Erotic keeps the recipe by plucking orignals other generations and making lounge-style remixes. Here’s more work made from yr mom’s favorite, The Bar-Kays 1982 Funky Disco-R&B single, ‘Do It (Let Me See You Shake)’ and Gary Low’s 1982 Italo-Disco single, ‘You Are A Danger’:
School is officially out and it’s time for all of y’all to feed those libido’s and livers! This Saturday Temple SF has just the shindig to help you do both amidst the dopest beats this side of the train tracks.
Atlanta’s Treasure Fingers a.k.a. AJ graces San Francisco with his super dope set that will have you shakin’ cross the dancefloor. He’s accompanied by the the freshest kid on the block Kill The Noise who is seriously about to blow the fuck up. Come witness an electro god in the making.
That’s two rooms of madness and a whole club full of booze beats and broads. Better get there early.

Springboarding off the previous article all about KILL THE NOISE—in a decided one-two punch of up-and-coming hard-hitting US dance music—here’s something from one of the best there is, Atlanta-based producer/DJ, and newest Fool’s Gold signee, Treasure Fingers.
First dive into this little mix for In-DEED radio on XM Radio station XMU. It was recorded December 26th, but the expiration date is blank on this stay-fresh pac (hell we’re still listening to his ‘40 Minutes in the Champagne Room’ from July, that we nicked from BigStereo). The In-DEED mix contains many unreleased gems from KILL THE NOISE and other talented folks. KTN’s ‘Hey You’ is sassy and sets the bar high from the needle droppppp.

We’ve slept on giving this dude his proper press (regretfully, we sleep on quite a bit)! There’s a good chance at least some of these are in your playlist already, but if not, get knowin’, cause Treasure Fingers is making some of the most danceable records around. This blog-hit got around in ‘07 but ‘08 promises a proper Fool’s Gold release with a B-side full of hot remixes. The undeniable ‘Cross The Dancefloor’ (with ‘Come True Tonight’ for good measure):
Now for remixes. Look, if dude can do this to BEP chick come pop-diva/chickenhead Fergie, he can do anything. Further proof in the form of a pair of remixes from ATL electro-pop band One Hand Loves The Other.
Monday through Thursday’s I spend most of the day ducking and dodging responsibility and/or my boss. My usual unkempt appearance (a.k.a. hangover) has been known to draw attention from the higher ups, so I try to lay low most of the day, pretending to work.
Ah, but Fridays! Everyone is preoccupied with turning in their timesheets and trying to get out of the office early, to be worried about why my hair isn’t combed or why my pants are far beyond acceptably wrinkled. It’s the only work day where I get the chance to spend some quality time with my mistress, the internet. We both snuggle up in my cube, I dim the lights and get all up in them guts.
A while back the Chazology empire came tumbling down and their absence left a gaping hole in our RSS readers. But, after retreating underground to regroup and plan their counterattack they have returned under the guise of RepertoireR! They’ve got a nice new look, but still the same great content. You know there’s always room in our hearts and iPods for Chaz. Should be the same for you. Visit them NYC boys and tell them we sent you.

ATL is the birth place of that legendary dirty south hip hop and has produced many great acts that we know and love. They’ve also produced one of the best blogs out there right now. Kiss Atlanta is run by Preston Craig, who is not only an exceptional blogger but he curates some of the biggest electro parties the ATL has ever seen. He’s like a young, white P. Diddy. Digging through Kiss Atlanta’s archives I found these gems:
Visit Preston and his bangin’ ass blog to stay on top of the ATL game.

And it’s hard to pop on the internet, and read any blog without getting linked to a MySpace page. It’s inevitable, BUT! Facebook, is coming up. It’s already bigger than MySpace in Canada and worldwide it’s the 10th most utilized website. Myspace is number 6.
It seems as though MySpace is feeling Facebook breathing down their neck with all their cool features and sleekly designed site because MySpace is soon changing their (ugly ass) layout & it’s chock full of new stuff. Here’s a screen cap of what the new MySpace will look like:
And speaking of MySpace, did you see that Aesop Rock was their featured artist last week? Which is not unheard of for an indie rapper to make it up there, BUT now Aesop is MTV’s artist of the week?! Not that I’m complaining, but it’s just strange to me, like when your aunt tries to kiss you on the mouth. I was going to touch on the whole MTV VMA thing but there’s not enough hours in the work day.
It’s almost quitting time for me and as soon at the clock strikes 6 o’clock I will be on my way to see the Institubes‘ PARIS TERROR CLUB tear San Francisco in half! If you’re smart you will be in attendance.
If you see me in the crowd tonight, be like T-Pain and buy me a drink, cuz I’m a straight 6 dollar baller right now.
