The Black Ghosts - Repetition Kills You (Dir. Sarah Hay)
Monday! It’s time for a spankin’ new video premier from London’s The Black Ghosts, in the continuing video series brought to you by The Black Ghosts and IAMSOUND records, curated by CULT-GEIST and presented jointly on Missingtoof and Big Stereo.
Today brings the video for what will be the first “official” single from the album (although the video above will not be the “official” video), ‘Repetition Kills You’, featuring the supremely talented singer (& all around rockstar), Damon Albarn of British alt-pop band, Blur & cartoon-crossover phenomenon, Gorillaz. The video is directed by Parisian music journalist & director, Sarah Hay. The video pays simultaneously homage to famous French New Wave director Jean Luc Goddard’s Bande à part film and and the classic video game Pac-Man, obviously playing off the influence of Parisian artist Invader.
Please enjoy a small staple of ‘Repetition Kills You’ remixes from Netherlands’ houser, Laidback Luke, Floridian club-king Diplo and British electronica machine, Emperor Machine.

The fifth release in the eleven video release series is for ‘Full Moon’, by Berlin filmmaker John Clegg and shot on Super 8.
The Black Ghosts - It’s Your Touch (Dir. Nick Banks)
It’s Monday! That means a spankin’ new video premier from London’s The Black Ghosts, in the continuing video series brought to you by the Ghosts and IAMSOUND records.
The series began two Mondays ago with ‘Some Way Through This’ and continued last week with Big Stereo debuting ‘Any Way You Choose to Give It’. Remember, alternating Mondays, ‘Toof and Stereo bring you new vids from The Black Ghosts. Chuch.
This video is directed by Boston U. alumni, Nick Barnes, and animated by Los Angeles artist, Stephen Tompkins.
The Black Ghosts - Someway Through This (Dir. Paulinho Caruso)
London’s The Black Ghosts are what’s right with music today. We are excited to be collaborating with The Black Ghosts and IAMSOUND Records to bring to you, a series of music videos featuring The Black Ghosts music, made by talented filmmakers. Get your stream on!
Over the next two months, Missingtoof and our bigger bro, Big Stereo, will be debuting new videos from The Black Ghosts every Monday (alternating between our site and theirs). This will be building up to The Black Ghosts debut self-titled release on July 8th! I know I’m excited. Will the record be this generation’s “The Sounds of Silence” with a bassline? Perhaps! I’m very optimistic.
We typically avoid using press-release information verbatim, but the sentence explaining the video above can’t be improved on: “An ordinary day in the life of a gay couple of thieves with relationship problems.” The video is directed by young Brazilian film maker, Paulinho Caruso.
The next video, for the single, ‘Anyway You Choose To Give It’, will be premiered next Monday, May 12th, on Big Stereo (it alternates, get it?).
More to whet yr chops, here’s The Black Ghosts, ‘Mixtape’ mixtape. Courtesy of IAMSOUND & Southern Fried Records.

Justice, everyone’s favorite French crossover phenom have released their newest music video today via (adversary come BFF) Kanye West’s blog. Now, it’s safe to say this won’t be in any MTV video blocks. The video is hostile. It’s confrontational. It may be a bit stressful to watch—How appropriate.
Justice get a lot of well deserved attention, and a ton of quality remixes come our way, here’s the creme: Montreal’s remix don, CFCF, London/Paris’ electro kids, Chewy Chocolate Cookies, Berlin’s electro superstar, Boys Noize, Parisian terror clubstar, Surkin & Charlotte’s up-and-comers, Your Drity HabiT.
We expect that tons of you have Justice’s debut LP, ‘†’, but if you haven’t, snap it up now or risk losing your credibility when fools troll your iPod. Get it hard or digital at Amazon.
Fresh off of Southern Cali’s Coachella festival, Justice are trekking through just about every music festival in the world. Always stay up on Justice shows on their official tour page on MySpace.
If this weekend was any kind of omen for the Bay Area Underground in 2008 I am feeling insanely optimistic. Skeet Skeet LA, Denny Le Nimh (NYC), BLOW UP DJ’s, Hey Willpower and a crowd of 600 brought the house down Friday at BLOW UP.
Frisco Disco saw Denny fight back his raging hang over Saturday and bring the hardest of hardcore party people to their knees. I can only ever speak for myself but I’ve never had more fun… and I’m just now recovering!
Peep some of the madness!

And if you haven’t seen the video of the latest Blow Up with Missingtoof Dj’s, get up on that shit!
By now you’ve all heard Snoop Dogg’s new musical endeavor ‘Sensual Seduction’. And most have probably seen the 70’s esque video which features Snoop seemingly channeling his character ‘Huggy Bear’ from ‘Starsky & Hutch’ movie. The video with it’s purposely old school VHS recording feel looks like a production that Prince would surely approve of.
Snoop Dogg - Sensual Seduction
Anytime an established artist tries a new direction it’s sure to get cheers as well as jeers. But our homeboy Solly from St Louis has laid hands on Snoop’s new track and has given it that undeniabley good B’more spin. You can’t hate on this.
Even my moms is friends with Snoop Dogg on myspace, so I wont tell y’all to add him, but DJ Solly is kinda new to the myspace game. Hit him up, add him as a friend, spin this shit in your next set & if you are one of them promoter type book him at your next shindig.
There are many more Bmore mixes on Solly’s myspace page as well to help you seduce that club honey in the hyper color Nike SB’s that’s you’ve had your eye on for months.
The Teenagers are back in a major way, with a new video for ‘Starlett Johannson’ featuring the object of adoration herself—Scarlett Johannson (or so the rumor-mill goes). The video coincides with the single release on Merok Records and the announcement of their first US tour (Toronto too!).
Y’all remember them Blamma! Blamma! cats? Remember how they did amazing things to songs from Blood Red Shoes, Headland and Maximo Park (kinda) and it changed our chests irreversibly—forever? Well, now they’ve done an official promo remix for The Teenz! OMG! <333
And, to prove The Teenagers can throw down a remix—here’s their take on London’s Simian Mobile Disco, reworked so brilliantly. We posted it before, but, oh so good, it’s a repeater:
We’re Teenz fanboys, as you can tell, so you’ll know we’ll be at as many of these tour dates as possible—including their very first American show in L.A. I’ll be in the front weeping like they’re the freaking Beatles.
Ed Banger phenomenon Justice performing live on last night’s ABC network, Jimmy Kimmel Live! show last night. You have to see ‘D.A.N.C.E.’ performed by Michael Jackson, Rick James, Stevie Wonder, Prince and Rod Stewart (I think) impersonators.
