Super motherfucking Villians god dammit. (Not many DJs are worth plagiarizing a MF Doom lyric—but Villains are).

It’s been too long since L.A.’s own, Villians dropped a mix on us. We were happy to premier Villains first mix, ‘Vol. 1′ last November (and it’s still knockin’). And now, I’m pleased to be able to share the new ‘Second Offense’ mix. I’ve been playing out the mix all week and I suggest you get on it. Contemporary classics and all-out bangers; flawlessly executed. Guest raps from L.A.’s Whiskey Pete and ATL’s 080.

In other big news, Villains’ remix of Shwayze’s ‘Buzzin” is getting some major airplay. This, of course, is due to Shwayze’s new reality show for the MTV network. The Villains remix is unanimously accepted as the best of the bunch, an accomplishment with other solid efforts by Skeet Skeet, Classixx & AC Slater. Swayze’s DJ Skeet Skeet hooked up the premier of this mix a while back, but in case you missed it:

L.A.’s Philthy B wants to be your favorite DJ. Not long ago, the electro-phenom Villains were three—but now they are two, and Philthy B, former Villain, walks alone on this 46 minute mix, ‘It May B Durty but Luv the Jurny’. It’s similar to the skillful Villains - Vol. 1 Featuring Whiskey Pete mix we dropped on y’all last year, but this one has a little more gutter club thumping in the guts.

Also you should know, Philthy B has now teamed up with SF-come-LA electro-houser DJ Farron on the new project After Midnight. More on that in the future, but for now, dip into this. It’s some club, some electro, some dubstep, some hip hop—All good. This mixtape has been in my stacks for a minute, but the playlist isn’t spoiled. There’s dance left in it, so get dancing!

Villains have officially taken over the blogger’nets. Starting with yrs truly, the villany spread to Good Weather for Airstirkes, BlocParty.net and on down the line.

As promised in the introduction earlier this month, more Villains coming at you. Today we have their first mix, ‘Vol. 1′ for your speakers. So, crank ‘em up and get an earful of this electro set that the Villains “can almost call … a ‘classic’ mix wrapping up what was hot for 2007″.

This mix is atypical for an electro set for two reasons: First, it has an emcee, LA’s own D’n'B champ, Whiskey Pete, who spikes the beat-punch with a few shots of party raps. Second, the Villains can cut a mean record and they bring that turntabilsm to the table—or pair of turntables as it were.

‘Vol. 1′ is also one of the few places you’ll hear the mastered version of the Justice’s ‘DVNO’, LA Riots remix—that will be appearing on an upcoming Ed Banger EP.
