Wow! Nice line up. Craig and the boys from VHS will surely rock the spot. I’m interested to see how the masses accept their new album.
(Follow up to my last comment)
The reason I say that is I saw them about a month ago and the new album is a far cry from Night on Fire and the days of Le Funk are far behind us. They wanted to do something different and I respect that but I’m surprised at how different their new indevor took them off the path that they bascially, in my opinion, paved for bands like The Killers, Radio 4, ect.
Follow up comments after the event would be cool to hear.
Hey James! I’ll be in attendance and taking phots/notes! i’ll let you know how the crowd reacts to Bring On The Comets.
yeeeeeapppp! be der!
Great! Should definetly be interesting. There were chants of “Alive! Alive! Play Alive!” at the show I was at. The new album didn’t go over very well here (Louisville, KY their hometown). Maybe the west coast will embrace it differently.
Looking foward to see how it goes over.
YEAH SON @ MORE HRS.!!!!!
THAT SH IT WAS CRRRAZY!!!!
So, James. The crowd seem to dig VHS or Beta’s the new album, not as much as Night On Fire, but they enjoyed it. I think most of the people in attendance were die hard VHS fans, so they were just happy to be seeing them.
Actually, after VHS or Beta went off, most of the crowd did too. Was kind of wack. But Curses! holy shit! he tore the MF’er down! Straight one man show.
Well, thats good to hear. I just don’t “get” the new album as much. Maybe it will grow on me but I can’t seem to get into it and i had it in my car for a week or so now. Good to hear it was a good show though, I want to see Curses! in a bad way!
Yeah, from what I’ve heard of the new album it was very ‘rock’y. and not like dance rock-y. like the kind on adult contemporary radio. Their crowd in attendance seemed a lot a tab bit older. 30 somethings.
& Curses! wow, I’m still reeling. like, I’ve seen live videos on youtube, but nothing compares to seeing that shit in person. this is my fave Curses!/Drop the Lime vid: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=urX1SXsy8l0
Well I just experienced the institubes terror … whatever its called at the echo in los angeles. The place never died down. The crowd was definitley tons of new faces (probably the VHS or beta kids that forgot that the show was downstairs).
Disaster, you weren’t kidding about curses! He was 100,000x better than i had imagined. The rest of the crew just followed right on cue after curses set. great night.
