Basura - March Toof Mix

Like you, we have girlfriends, ex-girlfriends, stalkees, stalkers, parents, teachers, taxes, bosses, bills and probation officers that sometimes eat up way more time than we would like. Which leads to our sometimes incommunicado status. We apologize. Real life sucks. The internet is way better.

Teenagersintokyo - Very Vampire, Robocat (The Knifemachine remix)

Australia’s Teenagersintokyo captured the indienet’s attention when they released their single ‘Ended It Tonight’ December of last year. The coven has briefly ventured out from their crypt and released their self titled debut EP containing five songs filled with evil imagery.

From start to finish the disc ranges from dark and scary on ‘Very Vampyr’ to the mysterious and airy ‘Death Rides A Horse’. At times I can’t help but be reminded of Siouxsie & The Banshees and I couldn’t be more in awe.

MP3:  Teenagersintokyo - Very Vampyr

The The Knifemachine has produced a dastardly remix of Robocat which could easily be the soundtrack to your worst nightmare.

MP3:  Teenagersintokyo - Robocat (The Knifemachine remix)

Their debut self-titled EP is now available in stores nationwide in Australia. They also have handmade t’s up for sale, one of which boasts a gigantic tooth. You know were gonna have to get us a few of those. Email merch@teenagersintokyo.com for more info.

If you happen to be one of the lucky devils living or traveling in Australia this New Years Eve, Teenagersintokyo are playing with Van She, Lost Valentinos, Bagraiders, The Knifemachine & more. If that lineup isn’t a sign of the apocalypse, I don’t know what is.

Buy Teenagersintokyo’s EP and add them on myspace or you will undoubtedly die in your sleep.

Gossip - Yr Mangeld Heart (Guns N Bombs Trashbags remix)

Gossip’s Standing In The Way of Control (Soulwax Nite version) came out over a year ago but track still get dropped regularly in DJ’s sets across the nation. It was believed that that remix was the remix to end all remixes. However, Johnny Love & Turbotito of LA based Guns N Bombs have put the forks in another Gossip remix that gives SITWOC some stiff competition.

Yr Mangled Heart‘ is just as soulful as any other Gossip song and with Beth Ditto belting out the high’s on top of the pulsing bassline; it’s damn near perfection.

If you’ve got an ex, leave this on their answering machine and make them all melancholy and nostalgic for your relationship. And if they call you back, immediately hang up. Player shit.

Gossip is currently touring New Zealand then Australia. The next scheduled show is Saturday in Auckland. You can purchase most of Gossip’s discography here. We’ve got more Gossip in our archives than an eighth grade locker room. And we’ve got more Guns N Bombs than the US Navy.

BODYHEAT: Boom Bip, San Serac, Codebreaker, James F Freidman (12/7/07) [SF]

This Friday, December 7th come enjoy a Special Edition of BODYHEAT at the Elbo Room with Boom Bip (LA/Lex), San Serac (Boston/Output), Codbreaker (Milwaukee/Disco Destruction) with Special Guest James Fucking Friedman (Throne of Blood/XLR8R)!!!

We’ve been fans of Boom Bip’s unique blend of IDM/hip hop-esque beats for years. They even did an album with Anticon’s Dose which was a must have for backpack indie rap fansboys like myself. But it appears Boom Bip has been bitten the electro bug and have been producing some dope shit for the club.

MP3:  Boom Bip - Snook Adis

And I can’t post about Boom Bip without including my favorite remix by them of indie darling Her Space Holiday. It’s an oldie, but always a goodie.

MP3:  Her Space Holiday - The Luxury Of Loneliness (Boom Bip Remix)

The one man party that is San Serac has been wowing party go-ers everywhere with his ‘Sexy Synth’ sound since his ‘Professional’ album dropped last year.

MP3:  San Serac - Fairlight [96 kbps]

Milwaukee duo Codbreaker has been funking up and down the west, gaining fans everywhere they go. They’ve shared the stage with the likes of Hot Chip, Datarock, Chromeo, The Silverspun Pickups, Har Mar Superstar, The Electric Six & more.

MP3:  Codebreaker - Exiled (Miami Horror remix)

James Fucking Friedman is a DJ who hails from Brooklyn NY and represents Throne of Blood & MAS-Forever, who as you know, is BFF’s with The Rapture

JFK (Jesse F. Keeler) of MSTRKRFT/Death From Above 1979 remixes Bloc Party & Mr. Miyagi

The Canadian duo MSTRKRFT gave the electro world a shock with their last album ‘The Looks‘ which was filled to the brim with hits.
