Leeds, UK, pop-rockers Heads We Dance have captured my ears! Some might consider this post’s lateness to be about as fashionable as a pair of Jordache jeans (the band formed in late 2006, and became blog-famous by early 2007). But we’ll wear the tight stonewash with pride and poise—in this umpteen-new-favorite-songs-a-day internet culture we live, these tunes are proving their staying power.

Under the guidance of Grammy winning engineer Simon Gorgerly, Heads We Dance are producing fun, danceable, romantic pop tunes that lend themselves to dance remixes by some of Europe’s finest—French “euro-crunk” head Tepr and the always-fashionable Londoner and ‘toof favorite, FrankMusik.

Hot-as-shit French electro-pop star Yelle just dropped her debut album, ‘POP-UP’ on Source-etc and you can get it right now from Amazon. It’s everything I wanted it to be, it’s some pop and it’s some dance club and it’s in a language I don’t understand even slightly! So fun! Yelle and her hot-as-shit producer GrandMarnier came on the world radar their first single, ‘Je Veux te Voir’ and are stepping it up with the second single, ‘À Cause des Garçons’ with the drop of the album.

Yelle gets plenty of remix treatment, including a few by frequent collaborator TEPR, as well as the late great Disco D, Riot in Belgium, Sta and more. This is plenty, but it’s still just the best of the best of what’s out there:

Also, a remix for Yelle-like French electro-pop starlett Catherine Ferroyer-Blanchard, who has a nice cassette single titled, ‘Chanson d’Amour’ (yea, it’s really a cassette single) that’s been catching ears at hipster boutiques and getting int’l blog love (see BigStereo. Tepr is doing his thing, and has been since his debut album which came out in 2003. The busy Frenchie has put out two albums since then & his remix of Yelle’s Je Veux Te Voir has launched his popularity into the electro/hipster stratosphere.

If you’ve been out to anywhere half way cool in the past 6 month you are guaranteed to have heard these tracks. If you were at the Ed Banger Ball March 24th at the Mezzanine in SF you no doubt saw Justice throw on the Data remix of Minuit Jacuzzi.
